As we wrap up our first term back, we’re delighted to say it’s been our busiest and most rewarding season yet! From September through to the end of October, we’ve had an incredible two months of field studies filled with energy, learning, and plenty of sunshine (for the most part!).
Our students have been fantastic – enthusiastic, engaged, and curious. It’s always inspiring to see their interest in fieldwork grow, and we’d like to wish them all the very best with their project write-ups.
This term, we’ve had a wonderful variety of studies: Leaving Certificate Rivers and Coastal studies, CBA2 investigations, and plenty of 2nd Year groups. We’re already looking forward to welcoming our Transition Year groups next term!
It’s been especially encouraging to see so many teachers bringing out their classes, not just for required studies but also to introduce students to the excitement of fieldwork. That enthusiasm makes all the difference, and we’re so grateful for your continued support.
As instructors, we’ve really enjoyed the diversity of field studies this term — from exploring river and coastal erosion, to investigating artificial features and their social, economic, and environmental impacts, to simply watching how a river behaves in real time.
We’re incredibly lucky to work in such impressive locations – from the spectacular Powerscourt Waterfall to the beautiful Larch Hill and along the scenic Dublin coastline. And with our field sites now accessible via Dublin public transport, we’re thrilled that more schools can join us without the added cost of long-distance travel.
What a season it’s been! A huge thank you to all our teachers and schools — especially our regular visitors who continue to support us year after year, and to all the new teachers we had the pleasure of meeting this term. We truly appreciate you.
We’re passionate about what we do, and we can’t wait to welcome more students and teachers out into the field next term for more discovery, exploration, and learning.
